It’s been a minute!
I’ve been so busy with wrapping up my detail in northern California, onboarding for my new part-time gig as a yoga teacher here in Flagstaff, getting ready for fire season here in Flagstaff and fundraising for Ukraine that I haven’t had a chance to give an update on Yukon.
In case you forgot, Yukon was diagnosed with Valley Fever and congestive heart failure earlier this year.
He has a special animal cardiologist down in Phoenix that he’s been seeing, and Ryan and I are both excited to say Yukon’s been making a lot of progress!
Yukon is now taking a series of medications, including Fluconazole, Vetmedin, Spironolactone, Furosemide and Benazepril. He’s also been prescribed a series of cardiac-friendly vitamins, including VetriScience Vetri Cardio supplements.
Yukon has gained back a lot of the weight he lost, and seems to be at a very healthy level.
I mentioned it in our original post, but Yukon never seemed to be in any pain during his complications.
However, now that he’s on his medications and has gained back a good amount of weight, we’re glad to see a huge increase in his energy levels.
Yukon, however, is not too thrilled about the progress, because his mid-day snack of organic salmon and brown rice has fallen by the wayside.
Anyway, just wanted to give a quick update now that Yukon has been diagnosed and is receiving treatment.
Keep your fingers cross that Yukon continues his recovery! It’s so nice to have our energetic floof back.
