Here we are, just a few weeks after the May edition of S#!T I’ve been loving lately, and I’m back with a few more fun discoveries that I’ve been really into lately.
This post? VERY fire-heavy. I’ve spent the majority of the past six or so weeks hopping from wildfire to wildfire to wildfire, so I’ve spent a lot of time loving things like industrial staplers and backpacking meals (made with hotel coffee pot hot water).

Farm to Summit backpacking meals. I tried this brand for the first time during my Superstitions backpacking trip back in February, and I’m almost embarrassed to admit that I ate several of these during my recent fire assignment up to the Kaibab in lieu of actual meals since Tusayan is a food desert and time on a fire for grocery shopping/ cooking is hard to come by.
My Tenba BYOB 10 camera insert. I bought this a few months ago when I started expanding my lens collection for my new (to me) Canon 6D, and I really love it. It’s discreet (nothing says “STEAL ME” like a camera bag that looks like a camera bag), customizable with velcro divider panels and has a lot of useful pockets that fit everything from my voice recorder to a spare battery, a reporters notebook and memory cards. I spent a lot of time stuffing this into hiking packs and dragging it around fires over the past month, and I really do love it. Just don’t buy it on Amazon — I originally did, and I got a fake delivered. I returned it and bought directly from Tenba.
GSI Outdoors JavaGrind. I impulse bought this with a 20 percent off REI coupon (IYKYK) thinking it’d be nice to have just in case I didn’t want to pre-grind coffee for camping… and I love it. I used it during last month’s camping trip and every day while staying in a hotel for last month’s fire assignment.
My Arrow T50 industrial stapler. My stapler and I spent a LOT of time together over the course of the past month. (I talk a little more about what exactly I use it for in this post.)
Flagstaff Skincare. I have naturally blonde eyebrows, and getting them waxed and tinted is an expense that I find to be totally worthwhile. I was a devout Benefit Brow Bar client when I lived in Chicago, but the Benefit (at Ulta) here in Flagstaff has really high staff turnover and scheduling appointments is inconsistent. I took the plunge and tried out Flagstaff Skincare and fell in love. Honestly, I think my brows look better after my Flagstaff Skincare appointments than they did at Benefit! Plus, I get my own room with a very spa-like experience vs. sitting on a stool at a mall kiosk while everyone watches.
AIM All in Motion dumbbells/ hand weights. I’ve been doing a lot more yoga sculpt and HIIT-style workouts thanks to the Xponential+ app, and I’ve been slowly buying myself heavier and heavier dumbbells. I really like these AIM weights — they’re neoprene-coated so they’re easy to grip and clean.
Baby Foot exfoliation foot peels. I am FOREVER obsessed with these exfoliation foot peels. I’ve tried to use the knock-off brands to save money in the past, but they just don’t work. I’ve even gotten Ryan on board the pedicure trend. He loves these peels because his feet get really nasty in his fire boots every summer, and I love these peels because they keep my feet ready for sandals and yoga mats. There’s a “man” version, but luckily Ryan is secure enough in his masculinity that he doesn’t care if his feet smell like lavender for an hour.
RuffWear float coat. Yukon isn’t a big fan of water and doesn’t know how to swim, and one of my and Ryan’s goals this summer is to teach him so he can join me on my paddle adventures! So far, this life jacket has been really nice with helping him.
SodaStream Terra. This was originally a Christmas gift to Ryan (in hopes of cutting back his spending on La Croix), but I actually really love it as well. I’ve been drinking a lot of sparkling water with a squeeze of fresh lemon juice lately, and it’s become one of my go-to summer drinks.

So, that’s some of the shit I’ve been liking lately. I’m excited for the late summer and early fall months because hopefully it means less work stuff and more fun stuff.
Happy shopping!
