Wowowowow. I can’t believe this month is my two year anniversary of teaching at YogaSix!
It feels like just yesterday I finished my 200-hour teacher training and took my first job as a yoga instructor!
But, here we are, two years and hundreds of classes later at a place that I’ve come to love with my whole being.
I’m so lucky to have this job.
I’ve grown so much as a yoga teacher (and as a human!) since I taught my first free community class at the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy while we were waiting for our studio to officially open to the public.
I reflected a little bit last year in my one-year anniversary post, but my time at YogaSix has also helped me foster a greater connection with my body, a stronger sense of mental well-being and a huge boost in self-confidence.
And, that’s not just teaching! That’s also practicing.
I’m so lucky that I have the ability to practice in this fantastic space with some equally fantastic instructors as well.
I’ve still taught more classes than I’ve taken… but I’m trying to change that.
I’m still teaching twice a week at 6 p.m. on both Monday and Wednesday, if you’d ever like to stop by and take my class.
Over the past year, I’ve hosted several really fun themed classes. I’ve tested out of an additional class format (slow flow) so now I can teach half of the class formats (the set sequence, power, slow flow/ 101, restore, sculpt) we offer at the studio.
Restore, I’m coming for ya next.
I’m so lucky to have gained not only an incredibly fulfilling second job, but I’ve also gained such an incredible community.
In fact, I recently turned down an offer for a new full-time job partially because it would mean I’d have to leave Flagstaff — and this wonderful fitness community.
I can’t wait to see what my third year at YogaSix brings!
