9/12.
It has, once again, been almost non-stop home buying and wedding planning this month!
I tried a new recipe — these brown butter salted honey pistachio cookies with white chocolate chips — and they were a hit with Ryan and his friends.

I made it out to the Orpheum for 2000s night with a few friends! There was not nearly enough Jason Derulo and I’m so sad that both “Pop, Lock and Drop It” and “This is Why I’m Hot” remain lost to my freshman year of college, but hearing “D! J! Khaled!” every hour, knowing my body is still able to Crank Dat on a dance floor, and screaming along to “Yeah 3x” momentarily healed my mid-30s knees.

Also, we dressed up for the occasion. I was kinda bummed my costume hid the awesome metallic blue 2000s makeup I can still flawlessly whip out.

I was able to sneak out to Winslow for a bit of paddle boarding with my friend Katie earlier this month.

I celebrated the start of soup season with a big bowl of tofu tom yum at Big Bowl Noodles downtown.

Espresso martinis at Rendezvous are always a good idea.

Fall colors have started peaking in Flagstaff! I’m excited to watch the colors start to creep up into the higher elevations over the coming weeks.

I spent a recent Sunday thrifting with a few friends from the yoga studio — we hit up Sharon’s Attic, Fourth Street Vintage and Goodwill. I bought a few new tops and a new pair of shorts.

I stopped by the Flagstaff Public Library the other weekend to check out its used book sale. I didn’t end up buying anything since nothing caught my eye, but I did check out a few books to read over the next few weeks.

And, speaking of books, I hosted book club this past month. It was Mariel’s last time since she and her husband are moving to Kentucky. (I didn’t get a chance to read this month’s book.)

I recently grabbed dinner at El Tapatio with Abby, one of the girls in the above photo. It was the eve of the government shutdown, hence the giant margarita.

I made a quick run to Chipotle for lunch earlier this month and was surprised to find my first ever duck. I’m a terrible Jeep owner — I don’t ever really wave or park by other Jeeps or do the duck thing — but it did make me smile!

I made a vegetarian version of this white chicken chili recipe, using Butler Soy Curls in place of shredded chicken. I’ll have to take another photo sometime because this one doesn’t really do it justice, but it was really damn good, and I’m already excited to make it again when Ryan gets home.
