11/12.
We’re completely moved out of our apartment! Our new house is nowhere close to being finished (give us another two years, at least), but it feels good to have all our stuff on one side of town and to be officially transitioned over to this phase of our life.

Ryan and I ventured out to the Flagstaff Mall to see the 2025 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree on its way from the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest to the Capitol.

It was nice to see a bunch of my coworkers (present and retired) at the event, including my Peace Corps friend Sabrina, who now works for the Forest Service up in Utah.

I taught chair yoga for a local group of female educators, which was a blast. I took a lot of chair yoga classes during my 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training in India, but haven’t had the chance to actually teach any chair yoga until now.

Ryan and I got our asses up and out of bed early-early for Northern Arizona University’s homecoming, locally known as Tequila Sunrise. Two of our friends live on fraternity row, and they hosted a bonfire in their driveway so we could hang out at 5:30 a.m. and watch the shenanigans.

We had our first snow of the season here in Flagstaff! In true Flagstaff fashion, it melted before we had a chance to get out and enjoy it, but it’s been nice to see the frosty peaks for the past week or so.

Ochi has been doing his best coping with the move. He hasn’t been getting as many walks as he’d like since we’ve been pretty busy, but he’s been an absolute trooper about all the chaos.

Ochi did get one final walk around McMillian Mesa (which was accessible from our apartment’s front door) before we turned in our keys.

Ryan and I took a break from moving to head over to a friend’s place for game night. I learned how to play Exploding Kittens which was fun… if not incredibly anxiety-inducing.

I made a version of this butternut squash, goat cheese and spinach pasta before I dismantled my kitchen to move out. I simplified the brown butter sage sauce and used rigatoni, but it still turned out pretty good.
