And my week highlights include…
- My first ever Wrigley Field experience! I watched my Tigers beat the Chicago Cubs 15-8 with my friend Mickey. Not a bad first Cubs experience!
- Brunch at Toast in Lincoln Park followed by window shopping with one of my old coworkers from Mongolian Barbeque. I had the apple, pear and brie crepe, and we stopped in at several shops such as Warby Parker and Paper Source, as well as a few antique and resale shops.
- Homemade breakfast omelettes — spinach, tomato and feta.
- Drinks at Cheesie’s in Lakeview with my cousin, Ben.
- Movie night at a friend’s place to watch Back to the Future. I’d never seen it before, I know. I’m behind on my pop culture.
- Starting — and finishing — Gillian Flynn’s Sharp Objects. Slow-moving, but well-written with a solid plot. My only gripe? The main character was a terrible journalist.
- A work meeting at Ghirardelli for some espresso chip ice cream.
- The usual 40-ish caffeine-fueled hours at the Trib.

You’re making me miss the city! I used to live within a block of Wrigley Field and now I miss all the brunch spots and whatnot. Sounds like you’re living the chic city girl life now!

Stop in for a day visit! We can brunch! 🙂 And I don’t know how the heck you could stand to live so close to Wrigley. One of my friends lived on top of Bacci (view of inside the stadium) and I always thought he was INSANE.
Oooh you’ll have to let me know what you think of Sharp Objects! I’m looking for my next thriller after Girl On The Train
I loved it! And that’s too funny- I finished Girl on the Train right before I finished Sharp Objects — so clearly it’s a sign! Once I got over the fact that the main character was a TERRIBLE reporter (journalist speaking), it was slow-moving but very, very well written and just flat-out creepy. I definitely think you should read it and let me know what you think! (Also- I’m open to book suggestions you have!)
Wrigley Field is my favorite baseball stadium! Admittedly, I haven’t visited very many stadiums, but I love the history at Wrigley. All of your pictures are always so elegant and fun to see. I hope you are having a good week!

It was definitely cool to see it, but it made me realized how spoiled I was in Detroit with the fairly new Comerica Park! Wrigley is definitely charming and historic, but sometimes modern amenities are nice too.
