Happy new year!
Ryan and I ended our 2023 in the same place we started it, doing the exact same things we did last year.
We had a little get-together at our apartment for our friends with charcuterie and wine.
We walked downtown for the pinecone drop at the Weatherford Hotel — it’s a Flagstaff New Year’s Eve tradition.
We went to Hops on Birch for a drink.
And we made it back home.
I recapped my 2023 in a post yesterday. It was pretty calm with a few small adventures, and I’m really happy with how it turned out.
Last year, I wrote “I’m hoping for another year full of hiking and snowshoeing with Yukon, yoga at the studio, paddle board adventures and high-elevation trail runs. I’ve set a reading goal of 50 books this year, and I’m hoping to finish several knitting projects. I’m planning on another season of gardening and hoping to get back into traveling now that COVID is no longer the same threat it was several years ago.”
I’m happy to say that 2023 was full of ALL of those things!
I’m hoping 2024 is similar. I’m aiming for a year full of hiking, running, snowshoeing, backpacking, paddle boarding, yoga, cycling and other outdoors adventures with Ryan, Yukon and the rest of the souls who fill my life with joy. And I’m excited to spend the next year making time for reading, knitting, gardening, traveling, baking, cooking, journaling, concert-going, blogging and all the other fulfilling activities that make me feel relaxed and content.
Cheers, all! Here’s to a wonderful coming year.
