You can always tell it’s fire season because I finally start buying way more stuff than I actually need.

Bread hair oil. I’ve been religiously using Verb’s Ghost oil for years on my ultra fine, static-prone hair, but I recently started using Bread’s hair oil in addition to Verb’s product. The Bread oil is very thick and heavy, but I think it works really well to moisturize my hair deeper than usual during the really dry spring months here in Arizona.
Biossance 100% Sugarcane Squalane Oil. I’ve mentioned The Ordinary’s version of this before on previous skincare posts, but I found this biiiiig container of squalane oil at Sephora, took the plunge during a Beauty Insider sale and I’ve been using it for two things lately: 1. As an overnight hair oil, and 2. As an extra morning moisturizer. I use about four pumps on my hair and the tiniest drop on my face. I definitely wouldn’t recommend a daytime face oil if you live, yunno, anywhere other than the desert, but it’s definitely helping a lot down here.
Diamond Crystal salt. After hearing chefs raving about this salt brand for years, I finally caved to see what the hype is about. Turns out, it’s great. Diamond Crystal is easy to pinch and easy to crumble. It’s superior to all the other table salts I’ve used in my life.
“Yoga is Dead” podcast. This podcast has been around for a bit so it’s not new, but it is new to me. The episode names come in hard and fast but the content is so good. I learned a lot about the western yoga industry and I definitely recommend this podcast to all my yoga friends or serious yoga students interested in learning more about yoga business practices.
Two Hands Seoul Fresh Corn Dogs. I’ve always know about this little carry-out restaurant located next to my yoga studio, but I didn’t know it offered vegetarian corn dog options! I tried them a few weeks ago and they’re so good.
Silicone socks. It’s sandal season so I’m spending more time than usual trying to keep my feet looking publicly-acceptable. I’ve been using these silicone socks a few times a week to help my lotion work. I can’t bring myself to sleep in them (yet?) but I do wear them for a few hours on work from home days, or evenings when I’m sitting on my couch watching TV or reading a book.
Dot’s Homestyle Pretzels. I’ve been obsessed with these lately! Lexie brought a massive bag along with her on our girls weekend (part 1, part 2), and then I found myself buying equally massive bags of them as well.
Dark Matter on Apple TV+. I LOVED this book, and so far the show is absolutely doing the book justice.
Mouse traps. We recently discovered that our yard has a rodent problem, and these catch-and-release traps have been fantastic in helping us get that problem under control.
Sivana. The ashram I’m going to be studying at this fall has a pretty strict dress code (no strappy tops, no sports bras, no crop tops… essentially everything I wear to practice hot yoga in, of course) and I’ve been shopping around a bit for some new clothes to pack for the trip. I found Sivana somehow (probably a Facebook ad) and ordered a few things not at all for yoga (some maxi skirts and crop tops) and I really like them! The skirts are a little short for my liking (I’m 5’5″ and they graze my ankles) but they’re so soft, have pockets and flow so nicely.
The Flagstaff Public Library book club kits. My friend Lexie hosts a recurring book club at her house, and after our last meeting, we discovered that our public library has book club kits!
