2/12.
It’s been a pretty chill (figuratively, not literally) February here in Flagstaff.
First of all- I had the absolute privilege right to join a few rallies here in Flagstaff to voice my support for a litany of things, including (but not limited to) my fellow civil servants, public lands, the constitution, democracy… etc.

My friend Zoe came over earlier this month for some weeknight baking. She’s gluten-free, so we made these blueberry almond flour muffins, which turned out so incredible, I’ve actually made them three (!!!) times now.

My friend Mackenzie taught her first class at the studio! She’s been working at our front desk for a while and took her teacher training last year, and now she’s got a slot on the schedule for a routine class. I’m super stoked I was able to make it to her first class.

The Emo Night Tour made it back to Flagstaff (it happens once or twice every year) and I managed to stay up way past my bedtime to venture out with some friends for the night and scream Secondhand Serenade at the top of my lungs.

Ryan and I celebrated our fifth Valentine’s Day together! It’s not really a big holiday for either of us, but Ryan surprised me with a sweet gift anyway.

We finally got some snow! Granted, we didn’t get a lot and it all melted fairly quickly, but still. Ochi enjoyed it! Ryan and I drove out to his family cabin in Parks on a recent weekend to let Ochi run around in the fenced yard for his first proper snowstorm of this season.

We’ve also been playing around with the Ooni a bit more. Ryan’s been experimenting with some pizza dough recipes, and practicing launching his pies from the pizza peel into the oven.

We had a really wonderful surprise at work. Two members of the public stopped by to drop off a basket full of goodies (fruit, doughnut holes, cookies) along with a heartfelt note thanking us land stewards for what we do.
It’s a really challenging time for public lands and the federal employees who manage them (have you contacted your representatives lately?) so it made me tear up a bit to see the sweet gesture of kindness directed toward us civil servants!

I’m very ready for March, which will be pretty busy but hopefully fun.
