February odds and ends: Patio drinks in Flag (weird), all the puppies at the yoga studio, and Heated Rivalry on repeat

March 6, 2026 March 2, 2026 Randi28 views

2/12.

Lots and lots of those little in-between moments this month!

Ryan left in early February for a fire assignment in Alabama, so it’s just been mostly me hanging out with Ochi, and keeping busy with house, wedding, and all the social obligations that have been sliding lately due to, yunno, house and wedding.

Anyway, let’s get the puppy photos out of the way to start.

I got to cuddle with this adorable pup, Checkers, who was at the studio earlier this month looking for a new home. Flagstaff- anyone interested in adopting her?

I also got to meet… Odys! Katie’s puppy, who was also at the studio.

And, finally, Kash — Mackenzie’s puppy!

That’s it for puppy photos, I’m sorry.

I’ve watched “Heated Rivalry” in its entirety three times so far, hbu?

I tried Megh, a new Indian restaurant in Flagstaff earlier this month. A few of my friends and I had plans to grab Megh for dinner, and then head to the No Man’s Land Film Festival, which benefits Girls on the Run. However, the three of us arrived at the festival’s location only to find out it wasn’t actually happening? There were few of us standing the the parking lot looking very confused until we figured out what was happening. At least the malai kofta was good, I guess.

I’ve been doing… more thrifting. Ryan and I recently hit up two Goodwills, a few local thrift stores, our Habitat for Humanity ReStore and a few other locations to get some furniture for our house. We found some awesome stuff — including a solid wood desk that can be stripped, sanded and refinished for use in our second bedroom or office.

I got to spend a few days down in the Phoenix/Mesa area for a work conference, and our hotel just happened to be right next to All Pierogi – my favorite Ukrainian restaurant in the state! I stopped in for borshch and holubtsi as soon as I checked into my hotel.

I also made it a point to take a hot yoga class during my time in the valley for my conference. I got to check out a cute little independent studio named Yoga Pulse at the recommendation of one of my yoga friends.

My sweet friend Jenni turned 37! We celebrated with patio drinks at Annex… which was weird, because it’s February.

Jenni and her sweet roommates also hosted a “hearts and crafts” party for Galentine’s Day, which gave me an excuse to work on the beanie I’ve been knitting for way too long.

I made conversation heart white chocolate popcorn for the occasion. Digging WAY back in the vault for this one, here!

I sent my engagement ring out to get resized, and got it back sparkly clean and polished. I still love it so much!

Two of my Flag friends here hosted a Super Bowl party that I got to attend, even though I have no vested interest in either the Seahawks OR the Patriots… and to be honest, we were all mostly there for the halftime show anyway, which was incredible.
