4/12.
Ryan’s currently out on a fire assignment (despite the weird unseasonal rain, it is still fire season here in northern Arizona) so it’s mostly been me entertaining myself this month.
I made it back out to the Cinder Lakes Apollo Training Area for a little work trip earlier this month, to meet with both NASA engineers and USGS geologists for a really cool upcoming project at my day job.

I also had the chance to set some stuff on fire at work! I’m usually the one behind the camera, but my really sweet coworker Lox let me swap for a bit — my camera for his drip torch — and I got to putz around and set stuff on fire during our ongoing Upper Beaver Creek prescribed fire project.

Although it was definitely fun, I think I’m more than happy to stick with my camera for days like this. It feels a bit more comfortable to me. 🙂

I recently finally wrapped up the new season of “Shoresy,” and now I’m on to watching “Detroiters,” which makes my heart so, so homesick for Michigan. All the niche references (“We gotta stop at Meijer’s for some crackers and pop!”) absolutely kill me. This show is so good.

I went to my first reformer pilates class at the Club Pilates that opened here in Flagstaff last year. It was only a 30-minute intro class but I absolutely loved it, and can definitely see committing myself to a membership after fire season.

My talented friend Abby from book club recently held a house show to commemorate the release of her new album! Abby has her doctorate in percussive arts and is a professor at Northern Arizona University. She’s insanely talented and it was such a treat to finally see her perform, especially in such an intimate setting.

Ochi got to spend a recent Saturday at the dog park, playing with some of his friends. It was the first time he met Odys — my friend Katie’s Shih Tzu mix — and the two of them LOVED each other… even if Ochi accidentally treated Odys like a soccer ball a few times, the poor little guy.
