I spent last weekend out in the White Mountains for a quick little fire assignment.
Two weeks later, I'm out of the woods following a 14-day assignment on the Dragon Bravo Fire.
I spent a big chunk of last week and this past weekend working on a wildfire on Navajo Mountain.
Do I make more money for this additional training and qualification? No. Am I going to do it anyway because I love my job and its responsibilities? Yes.
I was recently able to teach a small class allll the fundamentals of working as a wildfire PIO.
Simulations on simulations: I just wrapped up a 40-hour FEMA training for Type 3 incident response.
I just wrapped up a 14-day fire assignment on the West and Preacher fires south of my forest.
I recently had a chance to do some casual spelunking for work. How awesome, right?
I've spent a few seasons now working on wildfires, but this was my first fire camp experience.
