My 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) and my 300-hour YTT were worlds apart — literally.

January was a blessedly slow month after a hectic fall and December. Ryan spent the first two weeks of the month down on the Tonto, working on the Horton Fire, spent his third week of January home with me, and then left last week for a work assignment over in the Alabama-Florida border.
I’ve had quite a bit of time for myself this month, which has been really, really nice!
New year… new book goals!

It’s been a few months since I finished my 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) program at Rishikesh Yogpeeth, a gorgeous ashram tucked away in the Himalayan foothills of northern India, and I wanted to take a moment to detail a few thoughts about my ashram and program.

I’m back with the second part of yesterday’s post highlighting my recent India trip packing list.
Completely normal: I love packing.
Like, a whole lot.
I get just as geeked about drafting a packing list as I do drafting an itinerary for any upcoming trip, and when it comes to packing for me, the less luggage the better.
My recent trip to India was no exception.
Happy new year! It’s been a weird year so far. Ryan and I both contracted something (Norovirus? No clue) on New Year’s Eve… so rather than heading to Flagstaff’s midnight pinecone drop like we usually do, we both rang in 2025 sick on our couch, watching Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper’s antics on CNN while calling it a night at 10:02 p.m. right after the ball dropped on the east coast.
Then, Ryan packed up early on January 1 to head out to a fire assignment down in the Payson area. I spent New Year’s Day recovering at home before teaching a yoga class at the studio, and preparing Ochi for his big day…
…dental work!

It’s been a while since I’ve shared what my Kindle has been up to!
2024 was a pretty awesome year. No major changes or big BIG life events — Ryan and I spent the year in our same Flagstaff apartment, working our same jobs, doing many of the same things we did in 2023 — but there were a few minor notable things that happened this year.
